As a project manager, I always recommend coordination. Agree with your partner on the length and tone of your vows. You want them to feel balanced- aiming for one to two minutes each, ensures the ceremony maintains it's momentum while giving your words the space they deserve.

4. Draw on Shared Values & Traditions

In multicultural or multi-generational weddings, vows are a powerful way to honour your background. Base your promises on the values you share as a couple. Whether you are incorporating ancient customs or modern sentiments, speaking honestly about what your commitment means to your specific family unit makes the moment unforgettable.

5. Create a Logical Flow

Every meaningful declaration needs a beginning, a middle, and an end.

• The Beginning: Acknowledge your journey and those who have supported you.
• The Middle: The specific promises you are making for your future.
• The End: A look forward to your life together.

6. Speak with Intention

There is a profound power in vows that are written from the heart and delivered with intention. As a planner, I’ve seen first-hand how these authentic promises become the emotional highlight of the day. When you speak your truth, the atmosphere in the room shifts- creating a moment of connection that is truly amazing for your guests to witness.

7. Practice for Presence

Read your vows aloud. This isn't just about memorisation; it’s about ensuring the words feel natural and "you." Practising allows you to manage the emotion of the day so that when the moment arrives, you can be fully present with your partner and your guests.
