J & D had a vision. For their intimate summer wedding, they chose to pour their hearts into every detail, creating all of the decor themselves. From floral arrangements to table runners, every element was a labour of love, promising a truly bespoke aesthetic that was uniquely theirs.
But as the big day approached, a familiar worry set in. J was a master creator, but the logistics of setting it all up on the morning of the wedding felt like an impossible puzzle. The venue staff, understandably busy with their own preparations, wouldn't be able to help. How could she possibly get ready for her wedding while simultaneously transforming the space?
When J first reached out to me, I could hear the stress in her voice. She was facing that classic DIY dilemma: you've built the perfect vision, but you're now stuck on the final, critical step of bringing it all to life. I was immediately able to calm her concerns with a simple promise: I could help.
We met and walked through her beautiful plans, first at the venue, then at her home where she showed me the wonderful collection of items she had created. There were boxes of flowers, delicate vases, candles, and matching chair covers—a treasure trove of personal touches.
We talked through the layout and experimented with different arrangements. I offered a few suggestions for additional items, like a seating plan, a guest book, and a dedicated present table, which she enthusiastically added to her decor. This collaborative process not only solidified the plan but also gave her the peace of mind that every detail would be exactly as she envisioned.
The morning of the wedding was a testament to our planning. While J enjoyed her pre-wedding preparations, I had the pleasure of a relaxed morning setting up the conservatory at the Pontlands Park Hotel.
Later that morning, J popped in for a quick peek. The look on her face said it all—she was absolutely thrilled. We made a few final tweaks to ensure everything was perfect, and the wedding reception went off without a hitch. J was able to fully savour every moment of her special day, confident that her beautiful vision was in capable hands.
The next day, she sent the most wonderful message:
"A thousand thank yous for your time and effort for us yesterday, the room looked amazing and all of the guests said so too! Thank you again for making our day so wonderful xx"
